Supporting Global Goals for Sustainable Development
The DisruptorX Pitching Competition 2025 aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 4: Quality Education (Indicator 4.4.1 – Increase relevant skills for employment, decent jobs, and entrepreneurship) By fostering innovation, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial skills among students.
- SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (Indicator 9.5.1 – Enhance research and innovation capacity) Through student-led projects that address real-world challenges with technological and social solutions.
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals (Indicator 17.16.1 – Enhance global partnerships for sustainable development) By connecting students with mentors, industry leaders, and academic institutions nationwide.
Baguio City, Philippines – May 2025
The DisruptorX Pitching Competition 2025, one of the country’s premier platforms for student innovation, has officially announced its Top 10 finalists in both the Basic Education and College categories. With over 242 applications from more than 20 schools across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, this year’s competition showcases the growing momentum of youth-led innovation in the Philippines.
Among the finalists are three standout teams from the University of the Cordilleras (UC):
- B.O.S BLOCKS – Basic Education Category
- Turomi – College Category
- The AERO-Force – College Category
These teams will represent UC at the Demo Day on June 30, 2025, to be held at Chali Beach Resort, Cagayan de Oro City, where they will pitch their groundbreaking ideas before a panel of judges and industry experts.
A Showcase of Promising Innovations
Finalists in the Basic Education category are tackling issues in environmental sustainability, education, and technology. Meanwhile, the College category features advanced solutions in engineering, social entrepreneurship, and digital innovation—each project designed to address pressing societal needs.
UC’s entries reflect the university’s commitment to nurturing creative problem-solvers and future-ready leaders. From modular learning tools to sustainable tech solutions, these projects embody the spirit of innovation and the values of service and excellence.
Innovation at the Forefront
The DisruptorX Pitching Competition serves as a launchpad for student inventors, entrepreneurs, and changemakers. Participants gain access to mentorship, networking opportunities, and national exposure—empowering them to refine their ideas and scale their impact.
As Demo Day approaches, UC’s finalists continue to prepare with dedication and passion, ready to showcase their work and represent the university on a national stage.
