Supporting Global Goals for Sustainable Development
The strategic partnership between the University of the Cordilleras College of Business Administration (UC CBA) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR) aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 4: Quality Education (Indicator 4.7.1 – Promote inclusive and practical learning through community engagement) By integrating service-learning and capacity-building into business education.
- SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth (Indicator 8.3.1 – Support entrepreneurship and skills development for sustainable livelihoods) Through training and development programs for community stakeholders.
- SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities (Indicator 11.3.2 – Strengthen local governance and community resilience) By empowering social workers and leaders with tools for inclusive growth.
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals (Indicator 17.17.1 – Foster effective collaboration between academia and government) Through joint initiatives that address regional development challenges.

In a landmark move toward inclusive development, the University of the Cordilleras College of Business Administration (UC CBA) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR) officially sealed a strategic partnership at the UC Conference Room.
This collaboration is designed to strengthen capacity building and community development initiatives across the Cordillera region. Through joint programs, the partnership will empower local communities, enhance the capabilities of social workers and community leaders, and provide UC students with real-world opportunities to apply their business knowledge in service of public welfare.
