UC CBA Students Excel in Inaugural Intellectual Property Quiz

Supporting Global Goals for Sustainable Development

The Intellectual Property (IP) Quiz hosted by the UC Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (InTTO) aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 4: Quality Education (Indicator 4.7.1 – Ensure learners acquire knowledge and skills for sustainable development, human rights, and innovation) By promoting intellectual property literacy and academic excellence.
  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (Indicator 9.5.1 – Enhance research and innovation capacity) Through student engagement in IP awareness and protection of creative outputs.
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals (Indicator 17.16.1 – Strengthen multi-stakeholder partnerships for knowledge sharing and innovation) By fostering collaboration between academic units and innovation offices.

The University of the Cordilleras Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (InTTO) successfully hosted its inaugural Intellectual Property (IP) Quiz, spotlighting the vital role of IP in fostering creativity, innovation, and academic excellence.

Representing the College of Business Administration (CBA), two outstanding students showcased their knowledge and passion for intellectual property rights:

  • Ms. Patrica Mae G. Cruz, BSBA Major in Digital Marketing – 2nd Runner-Up
  • Ms. Aliyah Yvon G. Capili, BSBA Major in Digital Marketing – Finalist

Their performance highlighted the growing interest in IP among business students and the importance of understanding legal frameworks that protect innovation.

Promoting IP Awareness and Innovation

The IP Quiz aimed to raise awareness about intellectual property laws and their significance in protecting ideas and innovations. It aligns with UC’s mission to cultivate a culture of research, innovation, and ethical entrepreneurship among students.
