Celebrating Excellence: Rich Adriane C. Riel Shines at World Championships of Performing Arts 2024

Long Beach, California – The spotlight shone brightly on Rich Adriane C. Riel, a 20-year-old second-year BS Entrepreneurship student from the College of Business Administration, as he dazzled the world at the World Championships of Performing Arts in July 2024. With a voice that captivates and a presence that commands attention, Rich clinched Gold Medals in both the Rock and Open Categories, a Silver Medal in the Pop Category, and the coveted title of 2x Division Champion.

Competing against over 3,000 talented performers from 62 countries, Rich’s performances were nothing short of spectacular. His journey to the top is a story of relentless dedication, passion, and an unyielding pursuit of excellence.

Rich’s musical odyssey began at the age of six, when he first touched the keys of a piano. His talent blossomed in high school, where he dominated numerous Battle of the Bands events and emerged victorious in the Acoustics category during his senior year at Urdaneta Pangasinan. His exceptional skills earned him a spot in the prestigious Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) from 2022 to 2023, following a rigorous audition process.

Rich draws his inspiration from his family, friends, and unwavering faith in God. He lives by the mantra, “there is no harm in trying, who knows what potential lies behind those shadows of doubt.”

Special thanks go to his mentors outside the College of Business Administration, especially Sir Franklin B. Macarayo, whose guidance and support have been invaluable.

The entire University of the Cordilleras community beams with pride at Rich’s achievements. His success not only brings honor to the institution but also serves as a beacon of inspiration for his peers. Congratulations, Rich! Your future is as bright as your talent!
