The University of the Cordilleras College of Business Administration (UC CBA), through the Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX), continues to prove that business education goes hand-in-hand with social responsibility.

On May 5, 2026, the organization formally handed over the third and final batch of donations for Project P.A.W.S. (Protecting Animal Welfare and Safety), following their successful April turnover with the UC Barristers.

In collaboration with Project H.E.L.E.N. of the UC Center for Social Responsibility, JFINEX officers shared their experiences and solidified their commitment as ongoing donors for Furvent Sanctuary. This initiative highlights the transformative power of student volunteerism, proving that learning extends far beyond the four walls of a classroom.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The Project P.A.W.S. initiative reflects UC-CBA’s active contribution to the global sustainability agenda:

  • Goal 15: Life on Land
    • Indicator 15.1.1: This initiative directly promotes animal welfare and the protection of domestic animals within the community, supporting the broader mission of preserving life on land.
  • Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals
    • Indicator 17.2.2: Cross-sectoral dialogue. By strengthening the collaboration between JFINEX-UC, the UC Barristers, Project H.E.L.E.N., and Furvent Sanctuary, the university fosters a robust network for social good.
