WAIS SA PINANSYA: SEC & UC-CBA Drive Financial Literacy for UC Students

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Baguio Extension Office, in partnership with the University of the Cordilleras College of Business Administration (UC-CBA), successfully spearheaded a landmark Financial Literacy Seminar titled “Wais sa Pinansya, Sigurado sa Kinabukasan” on July 30, 2026, at the UC Gymnasium!

Designed to build a foundation of lifelong financial well-being, the initiative equipped hundreds of attending students with critical practical tools for personal money management, active fraud prevention, and sustainable long-term investing.

Featured Speakers & Expert Insights:

  • Personal Financial Management: Dr. John Carlo B. De Leon (UC–CBA) walked students through practical budgeting, disciplined saving strategies, and personal wealth planning.
  • Magduda: Detection and Avoidance of Investment Scams: Atty. Regina May M. Cajucom-De Guzman (Director, SEC Baguio Extension Office) delivered vital warning signs and legal safeguards to help youth identify and avoid sophisticated financial fraud.
  • Smart Sustainable Investments: Dr. Joe-el S. Marcelo (UC–CBA) highlighted the power of aligning investment portfolios with ethical, sustainable, and long-term economic growth.
