BAGUIO CITY—In a remarkable display of creativity and tenacity, Team PARKE, representing the College of Business Administration (CBA), has successfully advanced to the semifinals of the highly competitive Smart City Challenge held at the Baguio Convention Center. Comprising talented members Christine Faith Nichole B. Abawag, Brent Dyrelle C. Selga, and Aidron Jeav U. Golocan, and mentored by the accomplished Joycelyn P. On November 7, 2024, the team triumphed over fierce competition during the preliminary round, earning a coveted spot in the next stage of the challenge, scheduled for December 2-6, 2024. Their innovative project, GREENLIGHT, addresses pressing urban challenges, showcasing the power of technology and creativity to foster smarter city living.
As part of the competition, Team PARKE participated in the Smart City Tour, a unique initiative that immersed participants in Baguio City’s existing urban solutions, further enriching their understanding and approach to smart city development. This experience not only bolstered their proposal but also highlighted the importance of real-world applications in tackling urban issues.
Team PARKE’s commitment to excellence didn’t stop there; they also earned recognition as a Top 10 Finalist in the Technopreneurship Challenge, solidifying their position as leaders among a predominantly IT and engineering-focused field. Their remarkable achievement as the only business administration students in the competition demonstrates that innovation knows no boundaries, proving that CBA students can excel in any arena.
