The University of the Cordilleras (UC) College of Business Administration proudly celebrates the achievement of Justin Aubrey K. Soriano, a Financial Management graduate, for successfully earning the Certified Financial Management Specialist (CFMS) certification.
Throughout her academic journey, Justin demonstrated a strong commitment to both academic excellence and leadership, serving as a student leader while nurturing her passion for business and finance. Her recent success in the CFMS certification is a testament to her dedication and perseverance.
When asked what motivated her to pursue the certification, Justin shared:
“I am motivated to pursue this certification to enhance my knowledge in finance. Learning more in this field is a fulfilling experience, especially as I enter the corporate world, where it serves as my badge of confidence. In this industry, having mere knowledge is not enough—finance is complex, and we must embody the traits needed to match its complexity.”
Despite facing the challenge of limited preparation time, Justin overcame the odds through effective time management and a positive mindset.
“I enrolled at the last minute, and digesting more than 140 pages of reviewers was no easy task. By managing my time efficiently, I was able to overcome it,” she explained.
Justin credits her strong foundation from UC’s College of Business Administration for her success: “My background under CBA’s education and training has served as a strong foundation in managing the preparation within a limited period of time. From the beginning of my undergraduate journey to its completion, the knowledge and skills I acquired enabled me to effectively process and apply the information required for the certification.”
For fellow CBA students aspiring to excel in professional certifications, Justin offers this advice: “Take advantage of all accessible professional certifications. Passing even one exam will fuel your drive to pursue more, and this hunger for continuous learning will push you to excel further in your profession.”
Her achievement serves as an inspiration for students to maximize opportunities for both academic and professional growth. “With focus, discipline, and determination, students can go beyond classroom learning and prepare themselves for real-world challenges. Investing in professional development alongside academics not only strengthens one’s knowledge and skills but also builds the confidence needed to excel in the future,” Justin emphasized.
