By: Joe-el S. Marcelo

The University of the Cordilleras (UC) continues to demonstrate its leadership in entrepreneurship and academic excellence. On February 4, 2026, our faculty and staff were honored with prestigious recognitions during the Wadhwani Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Network awards for the 1st Cohort of 2026.

Join us in celebrating these two major milestones for the College of Business Administration and our partner departments:

Excellence in Educator Leadership

We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Gabriel R. De Guzman, Program Chair at the College of Business Administration, has been officially recognized as the Best WEN Ignite Educator.

Out of a competitive cohort, Mr. De Guzman secured the Top 1 spot as the Most Promising Entrepreneur Educator. This distinction honors his transformative contributions and unwavering dedication to shaping the next generation of business leaders.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. De Guzman emphasized the lasting impact of the program, stating: “These learnings will surely help us become better educators for our students… I hope we carry this spirit of innovation back to our respective institutions”.

Innovation Through Collaboration

Our pride continues as Team Crowdshift was officially honored with the Outstanding Venture Recognition and named Best Venture.

This achievement highlights the power of inter-departmental collaboration, bringing together the expertise of professionals from across the university:

  • Nikko Jayson Go & Janice Castillo | College of Business Administration
  • Lark Dominique Orillos & Hailie Lexis Galvez | UC-INTTO

The team’s ingenuity and dedication have set a new gold standard for excellence at UC, proving that when we work together, we lead the way for aspiring entrepreneurs.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

  • Goal 4: Quality Education – These recognitions highlight our commitment to providing top-tier entrepreneurship education through highly skilled and innovative faculty.
  • Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – By fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and supporting high-impact ventures like Crowdshift, we equip our community with the skills necessary for economic productivity and professional success.
